 Dead by Daylight x FNaF Crossover Set to Unleash Terror This Summer

Dead by Daylight’s fog is about to get a whole lot creepier as one of the most requested and highly anticipated crossovers finally becomes reality. The cult-favorite multiplayer horror game is officially teaming up with Five Nights at Freddy’s for a bone-chilling chapter set to drop in Summer 2025.

The crossover will be officially unveiled during Dead by Daylight’s 9th Anniversary celebration at PAX East on May 9th at 11 a.m. ET. Fans around the world can catch the event live on YouTube and Twitch, where the development team will pull back the curtain on what horrors are coming.

While the exact details have been tightly under wraps, leaks and teases have pointed to Springtrap—known in-game as “The Animatronic”—taking the spotlight as the chapter’s new Killer. This version of Springtrap is expected to wield a brutal axe and utilize abilities that focus on disorienting survivors through well-timed jump scares. Joining him in the fog will be none other than Michael Afton, who will step in as the new Survivor. His rumored perks revolve around resilience and psychological endurance, perfectly in line with his troubled past in the FNaF universe.  

 A brand-new map is also expected to accompany the chapter, likely modeled after the iconic Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Players can expect dim corridors, flickering lights, and the trademark eerie ambiance that made Five Nights at Freddy’s a household horror name. This new location could become one of Dead by Daylight’s most atmospheric and haunting arenas yet.

The crossover’s full launch is scheduled for this summer, with a Public Test Build potentially rolling out as early as May 27. The complete chapter could go live to the public by mid-June, aligning with Dead by Daylight’s new development roadmap, which includes a "Quality of Life Initiative" aimed at improving the overall player experience. This initiative caused delays to earlier planned content drops but promises a more polished and satisfying experience for all future updates—including this one.

The Dead by Daylight development team has expressed their excitement and care in bringing the FNaF world to life within the game. With nearly a decade of scares under its belt, Dead by Daylight continues to evolve—and this crossover proves that it’s not slowing down anytime soon.
