Top Arcade Games of the 1990s - Nerdthusiast

Are you a 90s kid? Do you remember the arcade games that used to be in malls and arcades? Well if you are, then this article is for you. In this article, we are going to talk about the best arcade games of all time from the 1990s. These games were the best of their time and they still stand up today. We will go through them in order from number 1 to 5. Get ready to go back in time and relive some of your favorite childhood memories!
So let's get started!

1) Mortal Kombat - This game is still popular today, but it was a huge hit when it first came out. It's a fighting game where you battle your friends (or an opponent) as one of nine different characters. You can choose from Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade and more! The graphics of incorporating real life imagery was amazing for it's time.
 2) NBA Jam - Almost every sports fan remembers this one well! NBA Jam was released in 1993 and featured real players from the NBA on teams like Chicago Bulls or Los Angeles Lakers. You could play as one of these players and battle against another player using different techniques like dunks or spin moves (which sent your player spinning away from his opponent). The game also featured classic one liners like " He's on Fire!"

3.) Revolution X is a 1992 arcade game that was developed by Midway Games and published by Williams Electronics. The game was released in North America on March 31, 1992, and it was later ported to the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. Revolution X is set in a post-apocalyptic world where people are looking for entertainment and thrills. The game takes place inside an amusement park called "Mega-Amusement," which has been taken over by an evil terrorist named Francis Dollarhyde (portrayed by Rob Paulsen). Shoot your cds to take out the villians!

4.) The Simpsons (1990) This 4-player game was released in 1990 and quickly became one of the most popular arcade games ever made. It was based on the popular television show and featured characters from that show as well as some new ones.
5. Street Fighter II: If you ever played this game in an arcade back in the '90s, then you know why it made our list. The graphics are amazing for their time period (and still hold up pretty well today), and it was one of the first fighting games that really allowed players to choose their character's fighting style—each character had their own unique move set and combos that made them feel like totally different people from each other. This was also one of the first fighting games with multiple endings that allowed players to unlock new characters by accomplishing certain goals during game play. It's no wonder why people were so obsessed with Street Fighter II!
