Okay everyone, keep calm and grab your ears there is some great news from WDW this week! Characters returning, ride updates, and even some upcoming ride changes for 2024!
First up hot off the press we have long awaited return of character dining, although some are back now we are adding to the list!!! For the first time in forever ( as Anna would say) you can dine with your favorite characters again at some of your favorite restaurants. Now this isn’t happening right away and seems to be a wave approach, so here are some dates that were released, and of course as more are released, I will keep you updated. Picture from the Disney My Experience App shows that we will again be hugging characters and having a more “normal” Disney experience.
Character Dining Return Dates:
Crystal Palace: Winnie the Pooh and Friends September 20th, 2022
Ohana: Lilo and Stitch September 27th, 2022
Cape May CafĂ©: Minnie’s Beach Bash Party October 4th, 2022
Although the retheme of Splash Mountain was announced over a year ago, we finally have a name for the new attraction! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was officially announced and will be opening in late 2024. It is being described as the ultimate Mardi Gras party, and we are so excited to see what this will look like. It will have guest participation and the concept art looks absolutely beautiful. With the amazing soundtrack from Princess and the Frog, I am sure we are in for a musical treat.
In surprising and unexpected news, we have an update to the Carousel Of Progress. In this great big beautiful attraction we visit John and his family with the iconic song playing as we travel through the times. In the ending scene we now see the family in some new updated fashions with some easter eggs. Patricia is sporting a new modern hairstyle and a Progress Tech hoodie which is a nod to Progress City, the original concept from Walt himself. John is wearing a “My Food Rocks” apron that is a nod to Food Rocks that was in Epcot till 2004. James features a hoodie with a logo that is from Mineral King Ski Resort that was scrapped in the 60s. Grandma and Grandpa got an update in their wardrobe as well. Don’t worry the iconic song is still playing and sure to be stuck in your head.
Next week we will take a walk through the Epcot Food and Wine updates and menus! See you then!
