What's New in Disney 2022

Hey everyone! MrsGoldenEars here and it is a great day to be a Disney fan. My name is Jess and I am a self-proclaimed Disney adult who studies up on the parks, resorts and food in the parks for fun and to inform! It’s feeling a little bit spooky, and a whole lot more “normal” looking at Disney’s socials today. We got a few announcements not only for World but Land as well as a cool new video game coming this summer. There was a Live last night on Tiktok that I will be covering as well! Lots to cover, so grab your mickey ears and lets go!

First up we have the highly anticipated announcement of the return of Mickey’s Not So Scary after-hours party returning from August 12th- October 31st on select nights.  If you are not familiar with Disney’s ticketed events, these are after-hours event that require a separate ticket and entitles you to a special treats, parades, and fireworks. Something to note is when these events happen Magic Kingdom does close at 7pm. The guests not staying for the party will still be able to see the current nightly firework show, Enchantment, before exiting the park. This ticket typically runs from $99 - $179 closer towards Halloween.  Tickets for Annual Pass Holders, DVC  and select WDW Resort guests will be able to purchase tickets starting May 12th. Tickets for all other guests will go on sale May 18th. Keep in mind these events can and do sell out! This year there will be a parade, castle show, a special firework show and other exciting new interactive features to enjoy. Oogie Boogie Bash for Disney Land was also announced to be returning with no dates or pricing thus far.

A new hotel is coming to Disney Land in California, well sort of new! Concept art was released for an overhaul of Paradise Pier hotel in Anaheim. The new art shows a Pixar overlay and will connect to Disney California Adventure. Right now it is unclear if it will just be Toy Story or other Pixar franchises as well.

This summer heading to multiple consoles is a brand new Disney game, Disney Dreamlight Valley. The game is being described as a simulation game with challenges and adventures. The trailer shows tons of characters from the fab 5, to Frozen , Pixar and Moana to name a few. Each character you meet or play in the game has their own story arc, and challenges like fishing with Goofy or cooking with Remmy. Eary access will be available to those with Game Pass on Xbox as well as Ps4 and Ps5 users who have purchased the Founders Pack. Eventually this game will also be available on Mac, PC, and switch. As soon as this becomes available I will let you all know.

At 10pm DisneyParks TikTok gave us special access into Hollywood Studios after park hours. The live was to celebrate the halfway to Halloween, where all the spooky news was shared. We ran into Cruella Deville who will of course be featured at Not So Scary in August. We were given a special behind the scenes ride with imagineers on Tower of Terror as well as Haunted Mansion . During the ride on Haunted Mansion tons of secrets about the rooms, décor as well as the reasons behind the rooms were shared. We received news that Halloween On The High Seas is returning this September to Disney Cruise Lines. They will have a brand new meet and greet with Minnie, Clara Belle Cow as well as Daisy dressed in the fabulous costumes of the Sanderson Sisters. We also got a great tour of Gideons Bake House in Disney Springs, explaining a new exciting trading card surprise that will be happening soon. During the next four days to celebrate halfway to Halloween. You  may be  lucky enough to receive a random card in your boxes of cookies, featuring super limited designs. Following this there will be randomly placed trading cards in boxes going forward. Disney is starting to have more and more of these special virtual events that give you a little bit of Disney Magic at home, I will keep you updated on the next one happening on May 18th, from the Haunted Mansion ballroom floor!

That’s all for today! Check back for more awesome updates coming soon. Next up will be a full article on Mickey’s Not So Scary, what to expect and tips and tricks to make the most out of the after parties at Disney.
