TMNT : Turtle Power Returns

 Turtle Mania Will Return

If you were alive in the late eighties or early nineties and someone says the words "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", you more than likely will have some fond memories of the mean, green, fighting machine. The walls of toy stores being flooded with the Playmates toys, the Saturday mornings spent watching the cartoon series, dumping quarters into the arcade machines and the Turtles being up on the big screen all over the globe. Turtle Mania took over the world for kids and the parents supporting them for nearly a decade.

Yes, the impact that Turtle Mania has had at it's peak, compared to this current day, definitely has declined. Lightning in a bottle doesn't usually happen twice. A few, let's just say, less than stellar appearances have unfortunately occurred. Some critically slammed box office bombs, the cringe worthy live action television series "The Last Mutation", and don't even get me started on "We Wish You A Turtle Christmas". The impact that the TMNT have left since their original conception did not end, it has only evolved.

Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo, all stay a part of pop culture to this very day. Nickelodeon has had two successful television iterations of the TMNT since 2012. Companies like Neca, Super Seven, Funko and even still Playmates consistently put out action figures, vinyl figures and playsets. IDW has broke record numbers in comic book sales over the last year with the release of their story arc "The last Ronin". Which also, finally reunited Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the original creators of the intellectual property. But I predict that things are just getting heated up for the four brothers that we all know and love.

Netflix is in the works with an animated movie due to be released later this year. Also a new episodic series in the preproduction phase with Nickelodeon, the comic book series being its strongest since the original Mirage run and with the announcement of the highly anticipated, Seth Rogan produced movie from Paramount Pictures, shell heads have alot of promising projects to look forward to. This generation of kids now have the opportunity to experience the TMNT first hand for themselves, as their parents did before them. Parents get to have new nostalgic moments, reliving those glorious memories that they enjoyed when they were children.

Merchandise will stock the shelves again, new exciting episodes will be streamed, and the Turtles in a half shell will be on the silver screen once again in theatres everywhere on August 4th 2023. Fans of these sewer dwelling reptiles have much to be excited for in the next upcoming years. Turtle Mania will triumphantly return and spin kick the face of pop culture everywhere once again.
