Top 5 Reasons to Consider a Walt Disney World Vacation Right Now

"Is it still worth it to go to Disney World right now ?".

Here is Nerdthusiast's 5 reasons why Disney Fans should get to the parks this year.

1.)✨Safety Precautions

Safety is Disney's number one top priority right now. I never recommend doing something that you are uncomfortable doing, so if you are uncomfortable traveling right now, then waiting may be best for you. With that said, I have personally been to Disney World since they have reopened, so I can say from personal experience that they are doing a fantastic job at keeping guests and Cast Members safe.

All Guests (age 2 and up) and Cast Members are required to wear masks. You are allowed to remove them when you are actively eating while stationary or if you are at one of the relaxation stations in the park.

Temperature checks are required when entering the parks as well. If you or anyone in your party has a temperature of 100.4 F you will not be allowed entry.

Social distancing in lines for the attractions is set in place as well. They have also added barriers for extra protection as you wait in the queues as well as barriers on select attractions as well.

To view all of the safety measures they currently have in place, please check the Know Before You Go information on Disney World's website.

2.)✨Lower crowds

A common question i get asked a lot is  "when is the least crowded time to go?". Right now, crowds are low at Disney World because they have capped off the normal capacity. They have been able to do this by incorporating the Disney's Park Pass reservation system, which  rolled out when the parks reopened last July. If you enjoy lighter crowds, now is really a good time to go. We won't see normal typical Disney crowds for a while. I personally love the park reservation system and hope that Disney keeps it around for a while.

3.)✨More Laid Back

I cannot stress this enough! Being an avid Disney goer, I like that I can now go at my own pace. I don’t feel like I have to rush and make a fastpass in time, I can dine at my own pace with so many great quick service and snack options. Also, with the parks closing a little earlier it gives you more down time to enjoy the pool and offerings at your Disney Resort.

I have had guests who go all the time and report back to me when they come home. They tell me "this was the best trip I have ever been on" because they enjoyed the more go at your own pace type of Disney Experience.

Unfortunately the nighttime shows are temporarily unavailable. Anyone who knows me knows that I am beyond obsessed with the night time shows, such as Happily Ever After. I adore those fireworks so much and cannot wait for them to come back. But, I think it is nice to not have to stake out a spot for the fireworks an hour before they start. Instead, I can go ride the rides during the last hour the park is open and practically walk on most of them. I also like that I can go back to my resort earlier and get in some pool time, or go do some shopping at Disney Springs. Again, just a more laid back type of Disney vacation when you don't feel like you have to stay to watch a nighttime show.

4.)✨Escape from Reality

Besides the safety precautions, I think this is the most important, especially for me, during this time. I am a big advocate for mental health and doing what makes you happy. For many, being able to escape everyday life is so important for their mental health. We all need a break, especially in today's world, from the world. Disney World is that escape a lot of us crave.

I say this all the time..."Although we are required to wear masks and social distance you still get immersed in the magic that you forget about the real world". There are times I’m there and I forget I have a mask on! You feel so grateful to be there, and with how amazing Disney is at keeping the magic alive, it is still such a nice break from the real World.

5.)✨The Magic is Still there

Don’t let some of the Disney offerings that we all love that are temporarily unavailable at this time fool you into thinking the magic is gone. It’s still there, and dare I say, it’s kind of better/more unique than before.

For example, character meet and greets are not the same. You no longer have to wait in line to meet a character, instead you can be walking through Epcot's World Showcase and spot Alice in her garden watering her flowers. Or Pooh catching butterflies with his net.

You can see your favorite characters in pop up mini cavalcades multiple times daily when in the park along the normal parade routes. I cannot express enough how exciting it is to hear the music start and you suddenly stop what you are doing to watch the parade float go on by with the princesses waving and saying hello to you.

I have watched my own children and other little ones interact and talk with the characters still at some of the character meals that are still going on. You actually get to see the characters more often now that they don't have to stop at every single table. They come out, dance, put on a little show multiple times during your meals

It is also important that I mention that the Cast Members are still fun to interact with and make your experience more magical than it was before. The Disney service that we all know and love is still there.

Overall, a Disney World vacation is still a magical experience. If this is your first time going on. a Disney vacation and it will be your only once in a lifetime trip, you may want to consider waiting until there are less restrictions and fireworks are back.

I think a lot of guests who visit frequently, myself included, are just so happy to be able to go back "home". We will never take for granted the ability to walk down Main Street U.S.A. ever again.

Disney is still creating magic, but it is up to us to be open minded and accept the new creative ways they are sharing the magic of a Disney vacation with us.
